Highlands Insurance Company and Highlands Insurance Company U.K. in Administration Settlement Information

Please take note that there will be a court hearing on a proposed settlement between Highlands Insurance Company (“Highlands”) and Highlands Insurance Company (U.K.) (In Administration) (“HICUK”). The hearing is set for Monday, October 13, 2008, starting at 10:00 a.m. in Austin, Texas.  The court’s ruling on this proposed settlement could impact your legal rights. If the settlement is approved, all contracts of insurance and reinsurance underwritten and assured by Highlands through the underwriting stamps of Highlands Underwriting Agents Limited and the Tower X underwriting stamp of Tower Underwriting Management Limited and transferred to HICUK pursuant to Section 51 of the English Insurance Companies Act of 1982 will be confirmed as being the responsibility of HICUK.
